While some would have us to believe that campus rape is a simple, black-and-white issue, the reality is that this issue is nuanced, complicated, and subjective. Different people respond to different experiences in different ways; what might be a fun, drunk hookup to one person may be a sexual assault to another. This 60 minute keynote provides students with an in-depth exploration of the realities of mixing sex and alcohol, examines how chapter social culture impacts members’ attitudes and experiences with sexual assault, and gives fraternity and sorority members concrete strategies for improving the social culture in their chapters in ways that will prevent sexual assault.
